Claudia Russell and Folk Unlimited Orchestra To Perform at Glen Ellyn History Center
Sunday, August 8, at 7:00 P.M., the Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents Claudia Russell and the Folk Unlimited Orchestra in a benefit concert for the Glen Ellyn History Park at the GE History Center, 800 N. Main Street. Doors open at 6:00 P.M. and the concert begins at 7:00 P.M. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Stacy’s Corner Store, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Sunday, 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. San Francisco-based Claudia Russell is a world-class vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. A gifted songwriter and vocalist with a sweet, smoky voice, she weaves together blues, western swing, country, pop, and rock music. She was a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk songwriting competition and was named Best New Artist of 2000 by Boston’s renowned folk radio station WUMB. Claudia has performed for thousands as cast member in several productions at American Folklore Theater in Door County, Wisconsin, including "Old Friends," "Goodnight, Irene," "Fish and Whistle," and "Sometimes a Song."
The Folk Unlimited Orchestra, includes guitarist/mandolinist Bruce Kaplan and bassist Mark Petrella.
Seating is limited. This is an opportunity to see and hear an award-winning folk group in a coffee house atmosphere at the Glen Ellyn History Center.
