Art Farmer was one of great pioneers of jazz fluegelhorn, the mellow brass instrument related to the trumpet. In the early 1960s Art Farmer recorded on the Mercury label a legendary recording: Art Farmer and The Jazz Orchestra, featuring arrangements for large jazz orchestra by Oliver Nelson. In this performance the CJO, featuring soloists Randy Brecker and Art Davis, will re-create the music from the original recording. This will be the first live performance of the music from the entire album. |
