Event Description
Mavis Staples began singing with The Staple Singers, her family's gospel-folk group, in 1954. Since then, she’s become a rhythm and blues legend, while never forgetting her gospel roots. A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Lifetime Achievement winner, Mavis has been nominated for Grammys in five genres and won for Best Americana Album in 2011 for You Are Not Alone, a collaboration with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy.
