Our free monthly series of jazz nights continues at The Jazz Showcase. On Wednesday, March 20th we present the James Sanders Quartet. Blue Violin is Sanders’ tribute to the legacy of the jazz violin masters. The recording features a mix of bop, post-bop and Great American songbook classics arranged for violin and trio, including unique takes on songs by Miles Davis, Bud Powell, Kenny Barron and others, plus legendary jazz violinist Stuff Smith’s title track.
